The Triangle worksheet provides the greatest level of scaffolding. Pupils:
Complete eight sentences using had + past participle
Work with regular and irregular verbs
Match sentence beginnings and endings
Rewrite two sentences so that the earlier action uses the past perfect tense
⭕ Circle – developing level
The Circle worksheet reduces the scaffolding and requires pupils to:
Match past perfect sentence beginnings and endings
Identify sentences that use the tense correctly
Recognise incorrect irregular forms such as “had went”, “had ate” and “had chose”
Rewrite three sentences using the past perfect for the action that happened first
