🔺⭕⬜ Adapted to three levels of difficulty
Each topic is supplied at three graduated levels so that learners can work from an appropriate starting point:
Triangle – lower-ability level: more accessible number ranges, simpler calculation structures and supportive prompts or hints where appropriate.
Circle – middle-ability level: larger numbers, reduced support and more demanding mental strategies or problem-solving contexts.
Square – higher-ability level: the largest number ranges and more complex applications, including five-digit numbers, calculations crossing place-value boundaries, decimals with different numbers of decimal places and demanding mixed-operation problems where these appear in the topic.
The progression varies appropriately between topics. For example, adding multiples of 10 develops from adding smaller multiples such as 20, 30 and 40 to calculations involving 70, 80 and 90. Subtracting multiples of 10 progresses from subtracting 10–30 to subtracting three-digit multiples such as 210, 240, 280 and 300. The word-problem sets move from accessible three-digit contexts towards larger four- and five-digit calculations and more demanding two-step reasoning.
