🔺 Triangle – supported level
Pupils begin by adding suitable prefixes to 16 base words. They then match six prefixed words to their meanings and write original sentences using four selected words. A prefix list and supplied definitions provide additional support.
⭕ Circle – developing level
Pupils match six prefixed words to their meanings, choose words from a box to complete eight sentences and write three original sentences. This level moves from recognising meanings to applying vocabulary in context.
⬜ Square – higher level
Pupils complete eight contextual sentences, independently explain the meanings of six prefixed words and write four original sentences. This level reduces scaffolding and requires greater vocabulary knowledge and written independence.
