Pupils use the word bank while also being encouraged to think of their own synonyms. They complete seven sentences and write two original sentences using the words whispered and cried.

The most independent challenge removes the word bank. Pupils generate eight synonyms themselves, complete six sentences and write five original sentences using whispered, cried, shouted, muttered and replied.
