🔺 Triangle – Supported Level
Pupils choose eight words from the supplied word bank before using suitable alternatives to ‘big’ in ten sentences. This level provides the greatest vocabulary support and includes words such as large, huge, enormous, giant, massive, tall, wide, long, gigantic, mammoth, colossal, vast and tremendous.
⭕ Circle – Developing Level
Pupils identify six to eight alternatives to ‘big’, using both the word bank and their own ideas. They then improve seven sentences and write two original sentences using the words enormous and huge.
⬜ Square – Independent Level
Pupils independently think of eight different words for ‘big’ without a word bank. They improve seven sentences, try to use a different synonym each time and write four original sentences using enormous, huge, vast and tall.
