Build confidence across key Year 2 maths skills with this substantial collection of weekly worksheets covering fractions, measurement, time, position, direction and rounding.
The bundle contains 10 topic-based PDF sets, with one topic suitable for use each week. Every topic is provided at three differentiated levels, helping teachers, parents, tutors and home educators select an appropriate starting point for each learner.
Each pupil worksheet has its own corresponding answer page, making marking, feedback and independent checking straightforward.
📦 What is included?
10 maths topics
3 differentiated pupil worksheets per topic
30 pupil worksheets
30 corresponding answer pages
60 pages in total
10 digital PDF sets
Supplied together in a downloadable ZIP file
No physical item will be supplied
🧮 Included topics
Rounding to the nearest 10
Fractions of 2D shapes
Fractions of amounts
Reading coordinates
Telling the time on analogue clocks
Drawing hour and minute hands
Choosing units of measure for length
Comparing and classifying weight
Reading thermometers in degrees Celsius
Clockwise, anti-clockwise and quarter turns
🔺⚪⬜ Three differentiated levels
Every topic contains three levels:
Triangle – lower-ability level
Circle – middle-ability level
Square – higher-ability level
The progression varies appropriately according to the topic.
Triangle worksheets introduce the core skill using more accessible values, familiar examples or additional scaffolding. Activities include rounding two-digit numbers, working with halves and quarters of shapes, finding halves of amounts, using partially completed coordinates, reading and drawing simpler times, choosing between common units and recognising clockwise and anti-clockwise turns.
Circle worksheets reduce the scaffolding and extend the range of skills. Learners encounter halves and quarters of amounts, thirds in shape work, less-completed coordinate pairs, quarter-hour times, millimetres alongside centimetres and metres, and tasks that require them to supply their own suitable examples.
Square worksheets provide greater challenge through larger number ranges, broader units and multi-step reasoning. Activities include rounding numbers beyond 100, finding halves and quarters of amounts up to 100, working with fractions involving denominators up to 8, solving coordinate clues, reading and drawing times to five-minute intervals, selecting between mm, cm, m and km, classifying objects across three weight ranges and following sequences of turns.
✏️ Skills covered
Learners practise:
Rounding numbers to the nearest 10
Using the ones digit to decide whether to round up or down
Recognising, shading and writing fractions of 2D shapes
Identifying equal and unequal parts
Understanding numerators and denominators
Finding halves and quarters of amounts
Reading letter-and-number coordinates
Using coordinates to solve written clues
Reading analogue clock faces
Drawing accurate hour and minute hands
Working with o’clock, half past, quarter-hour and five-minute times
Selecting suitable metric units: mm, cm, m and km
Comparing objects with 1 kg and 10 kg benchmarks
Reading and shading thermometer scales in °C
Solving a sequence of temperature clues
Recognising clockwise and anti-clockwise movement
Describing, drawing and following quarter and half turns
Sorting, classifying, colouring, shading and completing written answers
The fractions-of-amounts worksheets also include a fast-finisher fraction word search.
🎯 Curriculum and assessment relevance
These activities reinforce important primary maths skills involving number, fractions, measurement, time, position and direction.
They can help learners develop the foundational mathematical understanding and fluency used in classroom assessment and later preparation for assessments such as NAPLAN and SATs. This resource is not officially endorsed by, affiliated with or verified as aligned to NAPLAN, SATs or any particular national, state, provincial or regional curriculum.
