🔺 Triangle – Lower-ability level
Triangle begins with strongly supported sequences based on multiples of 3. The amount of information provided gradually decreases, helping pupils progress from completing a single missing number to filling several gaps independently. Numbers extend from 0 to 105.
⭕ Circle – Middle-ability level
Circle introduces starting numbers that are not necessarily multiples of 3. Pupils complete six-number sequences by repeatedly adding 3. Later questions provide a number within the sequence, requiring children to count both backwards and forwards. Values range from 23 to 210.
⬜ Square – Higher-ability level
Square provides further independent practice using varied starting points and clues positioned within the sequences. Pupils apply their counting-in-3s knowledge in both directions, with values ranging from 26 to 203.
